    Good topic, but I’ve doubts about second point. I think that it’s OK to write about anything that relates somehow to the blog’s main subject in any way without worrying about audience. If the post is valuable and useful, audience will find the way to the post thanks to Google anyway. I’m not pro-writer, but at least that worked for me when I was writing for a webdev blog ;)
