So listen up writers, the better writer skills that are sharpened will be a money making assest. Becoming a great writer takes hard work, positive attitude, and willingness to continue to learn.
I just wanted to share a few things that I have learned through my writing years:
Drive The Point Home
It’s important to have a precise, defined, and excellent point to drive home. Cut the crap, all the fluff, and share a clear well explained point. All great writers will engage and take the reader on a clear path from point A to point B without rambling, excessive content, or added fluff.
Quickly drive the point home while keeping it short, interesting, and sweet to the readers. Readers are not interesting to hear rants or rambles without going anywhere or driving a the point home.
Be An Expert
Become an expert by doing your homework and researching the niche or topic before writing on it. Write examples, use quotes, and give the readers well informed content that will knock their socks off.
Also becoming an expert will give you leverage to really settle in and make a brand and a name within your niche or topics. These type of experts become well sought after writers that get hired for big bucks.
Don’t Be Like The Other Writers
Most writers don’t take the extra steps to learn all the grammar and spelling mistakes that many writers will make. Some suggestions to take action in improving would to read these excellent posts “10 Most Common Spelling Mistakes That Haunt Bloggers“, ”5 Grammatical Errors That Make You Look Dumb“, and “40+ Tips To Improve Your Grammar And Punctuation“.
One of the most simplest things to do lastly is just hit spellcheck before you submit the writing.
Good Writers Re Read
Good writers have been giving this simple advice for years, and bad writers don’t do this. The truth of the matter is even the best writers are not perfect and especially on the first draft. And for the not so good writers will need a few more drafts through this re read and refining the written draft.
I would suggest to even read your work out loud, and this helps to find mistakes immediately after hearing aloud. Thoroughly read the article for spelling, grammar, style, and flow of the work. Don’t be afraid to continue to work at each piece to refine the work into a masterpiece.
Know Who To Write For
Writing a Tweet versus writing a guest blog post, are two completely different styles, tasks, and audiences. Being able to know who your targeted audience is a must.
The simple warning applies to any type of written content the bottom line is know your audience. Knowing when to write humor, when not to bash something, or when it’s good to use slang words. This last one is very important to fully succeed as writer and truly attract a huge following of readers.
