The Most Effective Urgency Wording

What words create a sense of urgency

With every good sales copy or message comes a good sense of urgency.  Seriously.  Look around and you will see the signs, the advertisement, the brochure, or even the email offering the sense of urgency.

I want to break sense of urgency within writing down to some of the simplest ways and terms.  Sense of urgency does not always have to time.  Using sense of urgency combined with availability and scarcity can than deliver a huge return in sales that is it.  After all at the end of the day that’s what we are looking for.

Here is my list of sense of urgency words:

  1. Don’t delay
  2. Click Now
  3. Limited time only
  4. Flash Sale
  5. Today only
  6. Offer will expire
  7. Act Now
  8. Supplies are limited
  9. Save Now
  10. Prices Will Be Going Up
  11. One Last Chance
  12. Only 37 Copies Left
  13. Oopps… only 36 Copies now
  14. Do Not Miss Out
  15. Bonus When You Buy Today
  16. Buy Before the Deadline
  17. Bill Me Later
  18. Limited Supply At The Old Price
  19. This Offer Will Not Be Repeated
  20. Final Sale

Just because I like to over deliver don’t forget the design, graphics, and even widgets.  These can be the arrows, the pop outs, shadow fonts, starbursts, ticking clocks, the countdown widget, and the opportunities are endless.

Here is few of the methods to help create the sense of urgency. The best reminder when using sense of urgency methods is to remember that while the objective is to sell something. Think of it as trying to sell something to your best friend.  That last thing you want to do is just sell him on something, but instead you truly believe in this product because you know it will help him.  If you keep that in mind the sense of urgency will come naturally and genuine.

    One I see quite often is “Closing Down Sale” on retails outlets.

    Then you see the same place doing it a few months later and you wonder when they are actually closing…

      Yea, but the thing of this is it works! That’s why you keep you seeing, again because it works! The crazy thing is these type of words, phrases, and urgency words have been around for very long time and they are not going away anytime soon. The best way is to embrace and start working them into your content.

    these urgency words are pretty professional these can make increasein sales because these words has potential to attract anyone and hence most likely to be clickable.

    I love the word list. They come in hand when making advertising banners and i wanna catch someones eye. My favorite one is number 19 “This Offer Will Not Be Repeated” lol. This makes them feel like they have no choice.
