Reaching Out to Fellow Bloggers

Give First to Fellow Bloggers

Pssst. Over here.

I want to snitch a little secret. Have you notice this obsession of everyone talking about, wanting more, and will do anything to gain more traffic.

I have used this little secret on many different occasions to my advantage, and the outcome always seems to amaze me. It’s a simple little strategy that your mom probably taught you many years ago, but it still works today.

How many times did your mom, share this golden rule, “it is better to give than to receive.

So your asking what does this have to do with online traffic, blogging business, etc?

Reach Out To Fellow Bloggers

This can play out in several different ways depending on your current situation. If you have traffic it could be as simple as offering a link and sending a lot of traffic there way.

If you don’t have the traffic, don’t worry you can still be a huge benefit by doing a few things.

Blog Commenting
You can reach out by continue to expand, grow on, and keep the conversations going through leaving a quality comments on there blog. This accomplishes a few things. One it’s a soft introduction to let the blogger know who you are, your site, and that your offering quality comments.  Second, this will break the ice if you decide to reach out in other ways or aspects.  Lastly, educate yourself on the blogger, subscribe to his email list, and learn more about product or services offered.

Become a Fan
This may not sound like reaching out per say, but hear me out on this one.  Every blogger has a online reputation, and that reputation is very important.  If you can offer a loud voice that will help that online reputation it’s a great win – win solution that continues to reach out to that blogger.  Being a loud fan, word of mouth, and offering your honest opinion point others to that blogger can be worth more than you could imagine especially when it comes to online reputation.

Connect Through Social Media
This is just yet another step to reach out by following this blogger on Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, etc.  Than with the idea of giving, by retweeting, sharing comments, and reposting information that again will only benefit others first.  This is a great way to connect on a different level and everyone loves more tweets, retweets, or just another positive Facebook comment.

Guest Blog Post
Guest blog post may not seem like reaching out, but in my view on the matter is when your offering some of your best content and to post it on another site creates a very nice win – win solution.  But it’s still giving them something.  I know how much the average blog post is going for if you purchase high quality content.  So when you deliver something that benefits them is just yet another great way to build relationship other bloggers.

Email and Ask
This may sound pretty obvious, but while I may not start of with this approach this does work.  So many times we are just afraid to ask for help, but when someone actually reaches out to you and offers help can a very generous gesture.  This also just continues to build that relationship and extends that fellowship that we are all looking for.   I really like this approach, because a while back someone told me is it really a relationship or fellowship if the other person never communicated back.  So this how I determine who I want to connect with more or less if I actually get a response back from there email.   While, I know and understand that everyone is busy, but it’s always nice to know that they are willing to communicate back with you.

So Now to You

These are my thoughts on how to reach out to other bloggers.  If you like these tips you can always practice any of these approaches here at Snitch Blogger. You can practice all these approaches and give your best commenting, being a fan, connecting, guest blog post, or even just asking.   I look forward to hearing from you soon!

I just recently realized that blog commenting is one of the best ways to reach out to other bloggers. Today, I combined guest posting and blog commenting together – I guess these cannot be separated.

When I share the best thought/opinion/ideas I have for a particular topic in some other blogs out there – I also need to respond to comments – to reach out to other bloggers who are interested with the subject matter – soon relationship will be established among us :)

Just after I have started COD, I met some friends… from then on we exchange emails or chats regularly – that helped a lot for me. I learned new things from them… it’s one of the best way to reach out too and build a lasting relationship.

Today I plan to reach out for few subscribers I have and let them know that I am ready to assist them to get started with their blogs specially web design – for free… I guess it can build a lasting relationship with them.

Thank you for this awesome post Eric.

    Regards :)

as primeaque86 mentioned, I think commenting is the right way to go. I usually just add blogs to my rss reader, then do some commenting and remove the ones that don’t give me anything back ;) and thats how the business runs ;)
    Best Regards!

Rightly said. Blog commenting helps in bridging the stranger gap between fellow bloggers. A quality comment makes the blog owner realize the existence of commenter. Plus, addition of Guest posting can work wonders!
