Google Adsense: Is It Really Possible To Make Money From It?

Most of you know that I use Google Adsense for well over 10 years and it continues to bring home a nice and steady paycheck which recently just learned that I will not be able to get that paper check anymore due to Google’s new policy here.  Regardless, I do and will continue to use Google Adsense.

I find it very interested to see so many haters bad mouthing, talking negatively, and even writing there top ten list of why they hate Google Adsense.

Seriously it’s everywhere!

I am here to change the tune of that music and continue to talk about why I am still a big fan of Google Adsense.

Though, in this little blog post I want to share with you what styles and types of sites that I have seen work the best using Google Adsense.

There are several different sites that I may or may not of have tried, but here is a list that really does not fly well with Google Adsense:

  • Politics
  • Religion
  • Medical Marijuana
  • Celebrity gossip
  • For obvious reasons no gambling or adult sites

Why don’t these type of sites or blogs work well with Adsense?

The biggest issue at hand is getting the right type of paying ads for these topics.  Yes while it’s true and fairly easy to generate some good and quick traffic with a site such as politics and celebrity gossip, the ads and income just are there for these type of sites.

Think though the process of how your getting paid through Google Adsense.  Google finds someone to pay them for to place a ad on a relevant site or blog to help build them traffic by clicking through your site to there site.  The whole process revolves around the ads itself and traffic.

No relevant ads means no a good fit for Google Adsense.

A twist to make these type of sites work

Now, I don’t know if I would highly suggest this, but I have learned through the years to be able to still make some profit from those type of sites (beside the gambling and adult sites).   One way is to twist the or angle the site and information in a just a different direction to make it more suitable for Google Adsense.  They way I would do this for example is to take a celebrity site and angle it about fashion, shows, movies, or something else in regards to the celebrity.  This gives a more general and broader approach that helps widen the opportunity for better and more relevant ads.

Again, let me be clear I don’t think I would ever suggest anyone just starting off or wanting to build their first Google Adsense to use this type of strategy.

Now I will let you in on a few of my secrets when it comes to Google Adsense.  This is very valuable information and I am sure I have not told anyone else in letting you in and sneak peak of how I continue to make really good money with Google Adsense.

I am not going to just say build a niche site, or something else that I am sure you heard a hundred of time.

This is my personal experience of what I have seen become some of my most successful Google Adsense sites. The sites and blogs that I have had the most success are the ones that revolve around the “how to” do something in depth that people are constantly looking for.  Here are some examples:

How to prepare for child for Kindergarten
How to create the best space for infant/new born/nursery
How to coach better
How to have a creative home office space
How to have clear skin

I do want to be very clear that not every “how to” site is going to be a homerun with Google Adsense.  Though, what I like about the “how to” sites that I see works really well is the whole idea is that your solving problems and it’s problems that people are searching for every single day on the internet.

I will quickly just share one personal example that I have experienced recently.  So my family and I decided to up a black vinyl chain link fence.  Everything went smoothly, but we ran into one interested problem.  See my house is on a slab and when we went to go put one of the corner posts up the closest we could get to the house was probably about 2 or 3 inches away.  This was due to the concrete from the house.

So what did I do?  Of course I searched online.

What I found was many others were having this same exact problem and even one creative solution that I found and I am probably going to be purchasing.

Before the problem

gap
Problem sovled

gap-fence

Interesting right? Of course the internet is a great place to find solutions for just about any and every problem. When you create a whole site with solving someone else problem it turns into a great thing.

Again when thinking about these different topics remember to think of the relevant ads and the money that people are willing to spend on the ads. A good rule of thumb that I like to keep is think of the product that the ads are selling and how much is worth for them to purchase that customer.  Obviously the higher product is the higher the ads click will be resulting in more money in your bank at the end of day, and directly to your bank account now to Google’s new policy. J

I know there are tons of other ways, suggestions, and sites that do really well with Google Adsense. Though  I know for a fact there are several that don’t work period.

Like I shared in the post I am really going again what a lot of people are saying right now. Though, I am going to stick with what has worked for me for well over 10 years now.

As per I know rate per click is very2 low recently, that’s make us need to have thousand unique user to click your adsense link to get feel the money. Doesn’t it?

    • Eric Pangburn June 1, 2013 at 7:11 pm #

      Hey Bryan,

Well, let me be clear that different keywords will pay out different amounts. So the rate per click is very low is a very general and probably not an accurate statement. It really depends on the keywords and what people are willing to pay for ads for those specific keywords.

In regards to traffic. Yes, it also takes a fair amount of traffic to generate a steady income, but again let me clear to state that you need to have thousands of unique users is another general statement. There are so many different variables when talking about making money with adsense. It would like me saying that you can make little money from blogging.

Again, I am just sharing my personal experience and why I continue to use Google Adsense.

      Look forward to more conversations,

      Eric

Just starting with Adsense but so far, I’ve earned a nice small amount. Won’t be taking any cruises anytime soon, but I could see how with traffic, this could be a steady source of income. Great article, thanks.

Yea, but once you start to see a steady income over time, and than think of ways to scale it up. You will be surprised of how easy and quickly this income from Google Adsense can really be. I don’t want to paint a easy follow the brick road picture, but I do want to paint a vision of what it could be in the future with a lot of hard work that will pay off.

Looking forward to hearing more success from you in future,

      Eric
