Scrambling for ideas to blog about?

Have you ever been in this situation, you open your browser ready to post another blog, and than it hits you draw a blank.  Or maybe you get distracted by checking your email first, or let’s just see who all has commented on my blog first.  Next thing you know your scrambling around waiting for the last minute to figure out what your going to blog about next?

I am not going to lie.  I have been there and done that!

Scrambling around at the last second for a blog idea is like a quarterback scrambling out-of-pocket with the defense breathing down his neck.  In most case having a quarterbacks scramble result in poor plays, loss of yards, or even a season ending injury.

That’s why I’m here to share with you today solutions so you will not be scrambling for blog ideas the last second anymore.

Here are quick and simple tips better prepare your and your blog for the next level of success:

Set a menu

Think of a restaurant they don’t have random menu changes all time. They may offer some type of specials depending on the month, but the best restaurants stick with a standard menu. This works with blogging is well, you must give your readers that same menu that works the best for your readers. I would suggest to have no more than 8 categories within your site.

Target Audience
Identify your specific target audience and really nail down what you want to convey to them. This is very important to get into the mind of the specific person your trying to reach. By getting into that mind you will be able to build a strong community that reaches, serves, and helps this audience. Until you have this specific target audience your just shooting in the dark.

Brainstorm
Take the time to have a good long brainstorm session. It could be as long as a weekend, a day, or just a few hours. Though taking that time aside to be creative, think outside the box, and radically brainstorm. If you feel as if you’re not creative, you should start surrounding yourself with other creative people.

Get intense
Stay focused with what you want to accomplish is when you get stuck doing day-to-day tasks or even behind try to think of the next great idea when you really get intensely focused on what you want to accomplish is when you’re able to fully layouts a full blog planned for success.

Get organized
It’s important to organize your blogging, we all know that blogging can be very busy. Blogging can consist of creating engaging content, outsourcing content, guest blog posting, blog commenting, and keeping a blog schedule. This is why I suggest to plan, get a blog strategy, blog schedule, and stick to your blogging guns.

Get discipline
This is simple as taking all the above and being proactive in blogging! Do your part in making your blog the best blog possible!. I once heard that the most important person that’s going to work the hardest for you is yourself! Be disciplined. Start writing and start your schedule today.

Take these tips to heart and by blogging with more heart, consistency, and focus can really boos your blog to the next level. I have personally experience this, and that’s why I feel these points are important.

Good post Eric. Ideas can be tough to come by at times. You’ve got to write them down as you get them, and keep exploring, tweaking and making them better.
